Watson — Grillot

Zion Lutheran Church in Independence was the Oct. 17 setting for the wedding of Shannon Marie Watson and Joel Benjamin Grillot. The Rev. Robert Leiste of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lawrence performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Dana and Julie Watson, Independence, and the groom is the son of Timothy and Janette Grillot, Parsons.
Grandparents attending the wedding were Harvey and Janie Pratt, Iola, Johnny and Dorothy Wetzstein, Parsons, and Francis and Mary Ellen Grillot, Fairfield Bay, Ark.
Matrons of honor were Courtney Nowak and Aindrea Scott, Lawrence. Bridesmaids were Michelle Hirschmann, Baldwin City, sister of the groom Jessica Housley, Parsons, and Chelsea Taylor, Kansas City, Mo., cousin of the groom.
Attending their brother as best men were Thomas Grillot, Lawrence, Morgan Grillot, Collinsville, Ill., Nicholas Grillot, Bel Aire, and Jared Grillot, Monroe, Miss. Groomsmen were Aron Taylor, Kansas City, Mo., and Brandon Taylor, Prairie Village, cousins of the groom.
Ring bearer was Trey Kimzey, son of the bride. Katie Watson, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.
Following a honeymoon to Secrets Capri Riviera Maya in Cancun, Mexico, the couple are at home in Lawrence.
Mrs. Grillot is employed by Lawrence Bank as a customer service representative. Mr. Grillot is a para educator and assistant volleyball coach at Lawrence Free State High School.
