Birds scarce here

Area cooks who put off buying Thanksgiving turkeys may have to travel out of town to buy their holiday birds.
During the past several weeks Walmart has sold between 500 and 600 turkeys and is out of the frozen bird at present, said Cory Wools, meat department manager.
With a limit of two turkeys per customer and priced for the holiday, the birds, pardon the pun, “Have been flying out the door,” he said.
Wools said more turkeys are expected but whether they will show up in time for Thanksgiving is unknown.
Walmart does have fresh turkeys, although a little more pricey than their frozen counterpart.
