Lyon County authorities are looking for former Iolan Brian Lee Trester, who has not been heard from for more than a week.
Heather Trester, Brian’s sister, told the Register that her brother was last seen just before sunup Oct. 22 when he was headed to work. Trester is an employee at Steve’s Trash Service in Olpe.
His truck, an orange 1989 Chevy pickup, was found unattended on a rural Lyon County road.
Family members reported Trester as missing the next day.
“It’s extremely unusual for him to not be in touch with anyone,” Heather Trester said. “He normally can’t go a day without at least talking to somebody in the family. He’s always calling just to say hi or whatever.”
Trester is a black male, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with brown eyes and black hair. He may have a mustache.
Heather Trester noted that her brother had been in trouble with the law in the past, “but even then if he was in trouble, he’d still talk with us. He’s never done anything like this before.”
Trester, 27, was born and raised in the Iola area. He moved to Lyon County about two years ago, his sister said.
Anyone with information about Trester’s whereabouts is asked to notify the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department, (620) 342-5545, or Heather Trester at 365-8655.
