Historic barn burns
The Humboldt Volunteer Fire Department and Allen County Rural Fire Department were called to the Fayanna Farm three miles east of Humboldt on Delaware Road around 5 p.m. Saturday. The 100-plus year old barn was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. Firefighters were able to stop the fire before it reached a nearby house and other outbuildings. The barn was reduced to twisted metal and smoldering wood within minutes. The farm served as the home of the late Fay and Anna Michael and is now owned by their grandchildren, Glenda Hill, Max Michael, Pat Bankston and Joe Michael.
