Iola artist featured

Iolan Steven R. Greenwall has been named the featured artist for this year’s “Autumn Art Fair” sponsored by the Parsons Arts and Humanities Council.
Greenwall’s exhibit will be on display at the Carnegie Arts Center in Parsons from Oct. 14 to Oct. 25.
Greenwall was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, and earned his bachelor of arts degree in art education from Brigham Young University.
He taught in public schools in Utah and Wyoming for 10 years. He then earned a master of fine arts degree at Utah State University and now teaches art classes at Allen County Community College.
Greenwall has participated in several art competitions and other events across the United States and has been a part of the Kansas Artists’ Postcard Series. He also has displayed his work in Kanazawa, Japan.
The Carnegie Arts Center exhibit will feature a number of landscape pastels, still-life in oils and watercolor and portraits.
An opening reception for Greenwall will follow the Parsons Area Community Concert Association’s Rudolf Budginas concert Oct. 14, approximately at 9 p.m.
The exhibit will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. weekdays and 1 to 5 p.m. on weekends.
The show is sponsored in part by the Kansas Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
