Meltdown sitters available

Baby-sitting will be provided for participants in Allen County Meltdown II evening exercise classes by local Girl Scouts at Wesley United Methodist Church at the corner of Buckeye and Madison.
The fee is $1 per child per hour. Most Meltdown II classes run from one to two hours.
Baby-sitting for Thursday’s 7 p.m. line dancing class in the Mary Ellen Stadler room in the lower level of Allen County Hospital will be offered beginning at 6:45 p.m.
Meltdown activities are planned every Tuesday and Thursday evening during the event’s nine remaining weeks.
Tuesday’s lecture series is led by Roger Campbell of Gett Fitt. This week, 27 “losers” attended at the hospital.
Lecture topics include setting goals, implementing lifestyle changes, neck and back care, the benefits of stretching, weight loss theory, the importance of sleep and the difference between being overweight and simply having too much fat. Campbell will also lead strength building and cardiovascular fitness classes. Next Tuesday’s lecture is at 6 p.m. in the Mary Ellen Stadler Room at the hospital.
Participants are also encouraged to walk with Meltdown II organizer Sunny Shreeve weekdays at 6:30 a.m. in the warmth of the Red Barn at Allen County Community College.
“As long as it’s freezing or below, we’ll walk inside,” she said. The more participants, the more enjoyable the experience, she said.
In the future, class locations will be posted on the calendar on the Meltdown’s Web site, allencountymeltdown.com, or by calling Thrive Allen County at 365-8128.
