Savonburg will get excess generator

When power fails, Savonburg citizens won’t be in the dark.
Allen County commissioners agreed Tuesday morning to move a generator — being replaced at the new 911 dispatch center at 410 N. State St. — to Savonburg’s community center. The older generator does not have sufficient capacity to power the dispatch center.
They also approved expenditure of about $1,000 for upgrade of a bathroom at the dispatch center.
A bid of $3,016.66 a month was accepted from Immel, Works and Heim, an Iola firm, to deal with adult misdemeanor cases in district court.
Commissioners spent most of their meeting in closed evaluation sessions with appointed department heads. They will meet again Dec. 31 for end-of-year business.
