Rarely has been being charitable been so much fun.
A group of 92 Iola Middle School students ponied up $10 apiece to participate in the annual IMS Christmas Ball Friday for an evening filled with dancing, games and plenty of food.
Proceeds from the benefit go toward helping a number of middle-schoolers from struggling families get Christmas gifts and other essentials, such as coats and gloves, for the holidays.
The event brought in $934, organizer Billie Collins said.
