Cherryvale rolls past Humboldt girls

CHERRYVALE — On the bright side, Humboldt High’s girls held Cherryvale High without a field goal in the second quarter, outscoring the Chargers 6-0 in the process.
Unfortunately, the Lady Cubs were already trailing 38-4.
Cherryvale’s dominant start put Humboldt out of reach early in a 59-16 loss.
Cherryvale led 38-10 at the break and put more distance between the teams with a 21-6 run that spanned the second half.
Hannah Fiene and Whitney Strack each scored six points to lead Humboldt.
Mary Reilly scored 20, Andrea Hucke had 12 and Brianne Smedley 11 for the Chargers.
Humboldt travels to Pleasanton Tuesday to take on Uniontown High in the Blu-Jay Mid-Season Tournament.
