Crest girls lose

COLONY — Crest High’s girls found their shooting touch was as cold as the barren Kansas weather Tuesday.
The Lady Lancers fell behind 17-4 early on as visiting Central Heights High rolled to a 65-16 win.
Crest was held without a field goal until Kurston Gilliland drained a bucket in the fourth quarter. The only other points came at the free throw line.
Central Heights led 35-11 at the break, then turned on the jets with a 21-3 third-quarter run.
There was one bright spot. Amanda Strickler drained 11 of 14 charities to lead the Lady Lancers with 11 points.
Pacing the Vikings were Cecilia Wuertz and Marissa Cox with 13 points apiece. Katelin Horstick added 11.
Central Heights won the junior varsity contest 11-3. Amber Tinsley scored two points for the Crest JV.
Crest (0-7) hosts Marmaton Valley Friday.
