IMS girls have rough road trip to Columbus

COLUMBUS — It was not the Iola Middle School Ponies’ night on the basketball court. The IMS girls played three games at Columbus and lost all three.
“The effort was there but we just couldn’t score points,” said Marty Taylor, IMS head basketball coach.
Iola’s eighth-grade A-team lost 38-3. Alexis Hobbs had two points and Emma Sigg had one point.
The seventh-grade A-team game went to Columbus 44-6. Scoring two points each for Iola were Morgan Wilson, Jo Lohman and Shelby Reno.
In a combined B-team contest, Columbus beat Iola 31-4. Katie Kelley and Reno each had two points for Iola.
Iola teams are holding a jamboree Saturday at the IMS gym. The intra-squad games begin at 9 a.m.
Iola travels to Coffeyville on Monday.
