IMS girls win one of four games

INDEPENDENCE — Iola Middle School’s girls found the going rough Thursday against host Independence Middle School.
Iola’s eighth-grade A-team lost 51-4. Hallie Cleaver and Alexis Hobbs each had two points.
In the B-team basketball game, Independence beat Iola 27-2. Karlie Lower had Iola’s two points.
The Iola seventh-grade A-team dropped a 25-8 decision.
Lexie Long scored three points for Iola. Morgan Wilson and Haley Slater each had two points and Addie Haar had one point.
Iola’s seventh-grade B-team claimed the lone victory for the Ponies on the night. The Ponies won 14-11.
Emmalee Seabolt and Shelby Reno each had four points. Scoring two points each were Lauren Hung, Jo Lohman and Haar.
Iola’s teams host Anderson County Junior High of Garnett Monday at 4 p.m.
