Marmaton Valley Jr. High defeats CMS football team

COLONY — Marmaton Valley Junior High’s Wildcats edged Crest Middle School’s Lancers 22-14 last Thursday.
The Wildcats scored on a three-yard pass from Chance Stevenson to Garrett Booth in the first quarter plus they added the two-point conversion. Michael Swift put the Wildcats up 16-14 by halftime with a five-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
Booth hauled in an eight-yard scoring pass from Stevenson in the third quarter for the final margin. Nick Trollope ran for 168 yards on 16 carries and Swift had 57 yards on 10 carries.
Trollope led the Marmaton Valley defense with 11 tackles. Swift had seven tackles and one interception. Joey Jefferis had five tackles.
For Crest Brock Ellis rushed for 34 years, had one touchdown and a two point conversion. Taylor Davis rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Clayton Miller recorded 13 tackles for the Lancers. Ellis had 10 tackles and three fumble recoveries. Braden McGhee had seven tackles, Rene Rodriguz had six tackles. Landon Stephens recovered a fumble.
