Red Devils beat Friends JV

Allen County Community College’s Red Devils handled the Friends University junior varsity volleyball team Monday night.
Back home after being on the road last week, the Red Devils posted a 25-18, 25-18, 25-15 non-conference win. The Red Devils improved to 13-14 overall.
On Wednesday, Allen County hosts Fort Scott Community College in Jayhawk Eastern Division play. Match time is 6:30 p.m.
Allen County set the tone Monday night when Friends served to open the match and the Red Devils got the first point on a defensive attack. In the second set, Allen County got the winning point on a block by Autumn Lamle and Mindi Lozenski.
“Our blocking on their outside hitters was solid throughout the match,” said Jessica Peters, ACCC head coach.
Jennifer House led the net attack for Allen County with 12 kills. Lamle had eight kills and one assisted block. Andrea Miller had seven kills, two solo blocks and two assisted blocks.
Nicole Rockhold made seven kills plus had a service ace. Suzie Fields had four kills, one solo block and two assisted blocks.
Lozenski was credited with 25 set assists plus had two kills and one block assist.
Misty Powelson led the Red Devils with 20 defensive digs. Rockhold had 14 digs and House had 11 digs.
