Yates Center loses final TVL matches

NEODESHA — Yates Center High’s volleyball team has no time to dwell on losing its last two Tri-Valley League matches Monday. The Wildcats set into Kansas Class 1A Regional volleyball tournament play tonight.
The Wildcats travel to Le Roy for regional tournament action hosted by Southern Coffey County High School. Yates Center plays Hartford in the first round of the single-elimination event.
“Kassy Reynolds had a good night at the net for us against Neodesha. Eureka manhandled us,” said Dan Berg, Yates Center head coach. “Eureka was bigger, faster and stronger than we were. Their hits found the creases in our defense.
“We have to put this behind us and get ready for regional.”
Yates Center lost to host Neodesha 25-14, 25-8 and to Eureka 25-4, 25-11 Monday. The Wildcats went 0-7 in TVL play and 2-32 in regular season action.
